Please join Professor Mitchell Velasco for a lively conversation about Understanding Cryptocurrency! The discussion will answer such questions as: What is cryptocurrency?  How does it work?  How does it relate to money?  How does it relate to investing?

Mitchell is a Professor of Business at FSCJ teaching a variety of Finance courses, including Personal Finance, Financial Management, Investments, and Data Ethics and Regulation in Fintech, among others.  He was the former head of Finance for the Department of Community Services for the City of Jacksonville and head of Audit and Budget for the Duval County Clerk of Court. In addition to corporate Accounting and Finance work at AT&T he has been an investor since he was a student in school as well as a current stock and options trader. He has also been the faculty sponsor of FSCJ's chartered investment club, Moneymakers, since 2019. 

Come to this engaging and interactive virtual workshop where all participants will receive a stipend of $20 per hour attended, a certificate of completion, and classroom materials.
